What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative use of focused attention, guided imagery, and suggestion in support of a goal you choose.
Will I be asleep or unaware?
Usually, no. Many people feel relaxed and focused while still hearing, thinking, and making choices throughout the session.
Can someone control my mind?
No. Hypnosis does not remove your agency, values, or ability to stop. Your participation and consent remain central.
What happens in a session?
A session generally includes a goal-setting conversation, a guided focused-attention experience, and time to reflect and choose next steps.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no universal number. It depends on your goal, preferences, response, and whether the work remains useful. No outcome is guaranteed.
Are sessions online?
Private sessions may be offered online when appropriate. Your consultation is the place to discuss location, privacy, technology, and fit.
What is the Rooted Empowerment Method?
It is an educational framework organized around four movements: Grounding, Unrooting, Replanting, and Growth.
Do you offer sliding scale or scholarships?
Yes, when space and funding allow. Options include reduced-fee tiers, donation-funded scholarships, and possible service exchange.
Is the HMI community-service pathway the same as private service?
No. It is a separate internship/community-service pathway with its own eligibility and booking process.
Is this medical or mental-health treatment?
No. Rooted Empowerment hypnotherapy and educational resources do not replace diagnosis, medical care, psychotherapy, or emergency services.
Who may not be a good fit?
Fit is individual. Some medical or mental-health circumstances may call for care from, or coordination with, a licensed clinician. Share relevant concerns before scheduling.
What about privacy and cancellations?
Before booking, you will receive the current consent, privacy, scheduling, and cancellation information relevant to your service.
